If you love crafting as much as we do, then you’re going to love this easy and fun project! Paper mashea is an art form that combines papercrafting with origami, and it’s perfect for any occasion – from weddings to birthdays. This tutorial will show you how to make a beautiful paper mashea tree, complete with detailed instructions and helpful tips.

Supplies

In order to make a paper mashea, you will need:
-1 pack of origami paper
-A cutting mat
-A ruler or straight edge
-issors
-Paint or fabric markers
-Ruler or straight edge to measure your folds

Instructions:

1. Start by folding the paper in half so that it is in the shape of a rectangle. Make sure the long side is facing out.
2. Next, fold one corner of the rectangle up so that it forms an “L”. Now, do the same thing with the other corner.
3. Now, unfold the “L” and place it on your cutting mat so that one of the short sides is touching the left side of your “L”. Mark this spot with a marker.
4. Now, do the same thing with the other short side but this time place it on top of the “L”. Mark this spot with a marker too.
5. Next, take your ruler and measure from one end of the “L” to the other end and mark this spot with a line.
6. Next, take your scissors and cut along the marked line closeto but not through the paper. Do the same thing with the other end of the “L” but this time cut through the paper.
7. Now, unfold both “L’s” and place them back together so that they are now in the shape of a triangle. Make sure that the long side is facing out.
8. Next, fold one corner of the triangle up so that it forms an “M”. Mark this spot with a marker.
9. Now, do the same thing with the other corner.
10. Finally, unfold both “M’s” and place them back together so that they are now in the shape of a square. Make sure that the long side is facing out.
11. Next, fold one corner of the square up so that it forms an “N”. Mark this spot with a marker.
12. Now, do the same thing with the other corner.
13. Finally, unfold both “N’s” and place them back together so that they are now in the shape of a starfish shape (see diagram below). Make sure that all four points of each starfish are touching each other (see diagram below).
14. Next, take your scissors and cutalong the marked line close to but not through the paper. Do the same thing with the other end of the “N”.
15. Finally, paint or fabricate your mashea according to your desired design.

How to Make Paper Mashea:

Mashea is a traditional Jewish holiday food made from flour, oil, and water. You can make mashea at home easily with just a few simple ingredients.

To make mashea, you’ll need:
1 cup flour
3/4 cup vegetable oil or olive oil
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
To make the mashea dough, combine the flour, oil, and water in a medium bowl. Stir until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Place the dough on a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes. Place the dough in a greased loaf pan and let it rise for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool before serving.

Happy Mashea making!

Conclusion

If you’re ever feeling creative and want to make a paper mashea, here’s how: Take a sheet of paper (or any sturdy paper) and fold it in half. Make sure the crease is lined up so that when you unfold it, the two left-hand corners will line up exactly. Next, fold one of the top corners down so that it forms a 90-degree angle with the other corner. Now unfold the paper and voila! You have your DIY mashea maker!
